The California Foundation for Independent Living Centers (CFLIC) sponsors events to help people with disabilities sign up for affordable home Internet, enabling them to access work and educational opportunities.
CETF encourages collaboration with grantees and other stakeholders including Strategic Partnerships with government, foundations and employers to sufficiently align strategies and investments to help grantees like CFLIC get to scale with broadband adoption.
Energy utilities know the value of having all of their clients online in order to save costs, improve communications and help their customers save time and money. CETF worked with the California Foundation for Independent Living Centers and Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) to develop a model for outreach and assistance to get their low-income customers online. CETF is exploring pilot projects with several other energy utilities.
