Access Broadband Connect (ABC) Grants
Digital Access Project – ABC
This Grant support California State University at Fresno (CSUF) in the partnership between the California Emerging Technology Fund (CETF) and Frontier Communications, Inc. to achieve a total 50,000 new broadband adoptions among low-income households in the Frontier service areas. The Fresno State Connect Initiative conducts outreach to promote awareness of programs that can provide low-cost internet and communication services. Since 2011, the initiative has helped bridge the Digital Divide that impacts the lives of those in rural communities in the San Joaquin Valley. Providing access to the internet to rural communities helps people stay connected as well as provides better chances for equal opportunities in disadvantaged areas. The grant awarded in January 2016 for $136,200 is to achieve 2,270 adoptions.
