The Smart Housing Pilot Partnership (SHPP), formed by the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA), Kids Progress Inc. (HACLA’s non-profit organization), the California Emerging Technology Fund (CETF), the Southeast Community Development Corporation (SCDC), and Reliatech worked together to implement a comprehensive technology adoption plan in two HACLA housing developments as “case studies” to document the experience, costs, and results associated with broadband deployment and adoption in publicly-subsidized housing. The two public housing developments that were selected were: Jordan Downs (700 residential units) located in Watts and Mar Vista Gardens (600 residential units) in Culver City.
