Nevada County is a leader for advancing the deployment of high-speed Internet infrastructure, generically referred to as “broadband” which includes both wireline and wireless networks and technologies.  The Nevada County Board of Supervisors is a champion for accelerating broadband deployment to ensure and enhance public safety, economic prosperity, and environmental protection.  Further, it is the policy of the Nevada County Board of Supervisors to strive to achieve Digital Equity so that all Nevada County residents have access to broadband infrastructure and possess sufficient digital literacy proficiency to use technology to protect their personal safety and health as well as improve their quality of life.  A Countywide Programmatic Environmental Impact Report (EIR) is intended to comply with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) effectively and efficiently to facilitate accelerated deployment of ubiquitous broadband infrastructure in Nevada County.
